Welcome to Spuistraat 274. The ovens of Amsterdam’s oldest bakery have been glowing for generations inside this historic Van Arkel architectural design. Here, in the heart of the city, the stroopwafel finds its home.

Over time, Hans Egstorf has expanded throughout Amsterdam, with several beautiful locations on charming corners and canals. While baking our signature cookie, we are proudly overlooking the city's iconic scenery. Each stroopwafel welcomes our visitors with warmth, spice and sweetness.

The stroopwafel is a wonderful Dutch creation: two thin and crisp waffles are deliciously joined together by the "stroop", a caramel like syrup that is warm and fragant. Our family finds true joy in serving them warm in our bakeries and beautifully packaged for gifting and worldwide shipping. 

We take pride in our outstanding and widely celebrated quality and the authentic craftmanship that has been passed down through generations.
